Supercell Calendar: August

We were given a very fun and challenging task by Supercell: create a calendar which would immerse fans further in the Finnish culture. The idea was to define each month’s meaning in Finnish through an anecdotal image which would also relate to the Supercell universe.
ILLUSTRATION IDEA:
We illustrated a selection of Supercell characters heading back to work. They are walking in a line, fully recharged and raring to go. El Primo is showing off his tank top tan lines, Goblin skips along with travel/duty-free stickers on his sack and Builder has a beaming smile as he pulls his bag of tools.
CONCEPT: Elokuu - August
The Finnish word for August is Elokuu, meaning the harvest month. “Elo” means “life”, something that our Supercellians come back to work with a new lease of. After a restful July, August is a time of recharged inspiration and energy where we refocus on work.
